Notes:
Coming together
Jim and Gene have been playing together since 1984. Jim always wanted to play jazz and Gene longed to develop his classical technique, so they began to trade coaching sessions. The exchange led to some exciting music making as the classical and jazz musicians found common ground, and eventually led to concerts across Canada. This is their first (and long overdue) recording together.
Recorded at Muttart Hall, Edmonton May 25 & 26, 1993.
A production of CBC Edmonton.
Jim Campbell plays a Selmer recital clarinet with a C-85 mouthpiece, BG Rvelation ligature and Van Doren reeds.
