This version was released after the introduction of the tax on April 1, 1989, as evidenced by the tax-introduced price indicated on the obi-strip and the inscription “Warner-Pioneer Corporation” on the obi strip, the spine of the back inlay, and the outer edge of the disc. A closer look at the obi strip reveals a strange detail. The “Deep Purple entry coupon, postmarked by the end of March ’89” that is normally printed on the obi-strip of the 1st press of this catalog number is also printed on the obi-strip released after April 1, 1989 (1st press: [r886217]). Whether it was due to a sales quota or an oversight is unknown, but it means that an entry coupon that was actually expired and unusable was included. However, no entry postcard was included. Other Deep Purple albums do not have this entry coupon ([r3838319]), so it is currently unknown whether this is unique to this album or if other albums also had similar strange obi strips.
