Three sides of this double LP come from a concert Coltrane played at the Salle Pleyel in Paris on July 28, 1965 (with McCoy Tyner on piano, Jimmy Garrison on bass and Elvin Jones on drums), but the first side of the LP was recorded outdoors at the Antibes Jazz Festival (held a day earlier). “While the audience lounged in shorts… the quartet sweltered on stage in tuxedos”.
