Maureen Forrester’s comments were taken from two sources: her acceptance speech at the AV Trust Masterworks gala in 2004 and her thoughts gathered for the 2001 documentary The Diva in Winter, written and directed by Donald Winkler and produced by Craig Graham.

Both works The Confession Stone and Liederkreis, Op. 39 were produced by the Canadian Talent Library (CTL) and recorded at Toronto’s Eatern Sound Studio in 1981. It was released on a single album on the RCA Seal label in 1982. We express our gratitude to Factor for the use of these two tracks.

Mahler’s “Abschied” from Das Lied von der Erde was recorded live at New york’s Carnegie Hall on 16 April 1960. We also express our gratitude to Music & Arts for the use of this historical recording.
