Comparison with the two individual “On The Night” CDs that were released first allows us to ascertain which tracks here come from which performance.
1-2, 1-3, 2-5, 2-10, 2-13
are from [r=12650998]
All other tracks are from [r=12651263]
There are a large number of edits between tracks to remove talking and noise
Noticeable edits on this compilation compared to [r=12651263] are:
1-1 Stanlow (7-10 seconds of audience noise at the start is cut)
1-5 Sealand (Andy’s comments about the previous track (The New Dark Age) being an obscure 90s b-side and the next track (Sealand) being written for an orchestra in 1981 are edited out. Also edited out are Andy’s enthusiastic and loud clapping of the orchestra and post song comments about how blown away they were when they heard first the arrangement two weeks before at the rehearsals)
1-6 The Avenue
(Andy’s comment at the end about not knowing where the song ends because the band doesn’t do fade outs is edited out)
1-7 The Daughter Of The Minotaur
(Andy’s intro about how the song was written for the film Female Human Animal and the explanation of the art projections is edited out. Andy’s outro crediting the performance artist dancing of Filippos Tsitsopoulos during the song is also cut.)
2-3 Joan Of Arc (some crowd noise edited out at the end)
2-4 Joan Of Arc (Maid Of Orleans) (Crowd at end is cross-faded to the 1st night and Andy’s exclamation “that’s what it sounds like with an orchestra” is cut)
2-6 What Have We Done (Paul and Andy spoken introduction is cut)
2-8 Talking Loud & Clear (Andy’s introduction explaining how he has the words printed out in front of him because got the words wrong the previous night (mirroring how he got them wrong with the orchestra in 2009) is cut.
This explains the surviving post-song comment about how the orchestra are also reading their part from a sheet.
The other post-song comment about Paul’s synth sounding like a really big brass section is cut)
2-11 The Native Daughters Of The Golden West (Andy’s pre-song questions to the orchestra “what’s the orchestral equivalent of turning it to 11? Whatever it is can you do it?” are cut)
Andy’s post song comment about hitting the last note is cut. He also dedicates the song to his sister Fiona whose birthday it is, and this whole speech is cut except for the words “i love you” at the end)
2-12 Sailing On The Seven Seas (Crowd at end is cross-faded into the 1st night)
2-14 Electricity (Andy’s pre-song comments about next Friday being the 40th Anniversary of their first gig, and the guy at the Sounds gig guide telling them they’d “never get anywhere with a name like that” are cut)
Noticeable edits on this compilation compared to [r=12650998] are:
1-2 Statues (Andy’s spoken intro to the evening’s proceedings is edited out)
2-5 All That Glitters (Andy’s pre-song comment “you should have seen the shirt I was thinking of wearing” is cut.
Andy’s post-song comment “we only ever play that song with the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic” is cut)
2-10 Walking On The Milky Way (Andy’s pre-song comment about “just starting to warm up” is cut)
2-13 Enola Gay (Crowd at end is cross-faded into the 2nd night and the thank-yous are at the end of this track rather than as the start of the next track)
