“Appalachian Spring” and “Billy the Kid” were recorded June 15 and 16, 1961 in Watford Town Hall, outside London, on 35mm magnetic film and half-inch 3-track tape, using three Telefunken 201 microphones. Because of the present unavailability of the 35mm film master, this CD was mastered from the original half-inch tape. These performances were originally released as [url=http://www.discogs.com/release/9503435]SR90246[/url]. “Danzón Cubano” and “El Salón México” were recorded in Northrop Auditorium, Minneapolis, on December 20, 1957, on 3-track half-inch tape, using one 201 and two M56 Telefunken microphones, and originally released as [url=http://www.discogs.com/release/3346452]SR90172[/url].”
